the story of us

The Story of Us❤️

You always ask me why im so quiet, so I think this answers you quite well. I like to sit and think about what I’m going write in this journal, just for you…..

The first thing I’d mention is the way I never need to say anything for you to just get me. The inside-jokes, the good moments, even the bad moments. Or the way I could just look at you and you suddenly understand everything I ever had to say, without saying a single word. Or the way we can live in each other’s presence, where the peace is calming, instead of deafening awkwardness. Courtesy of you, I got (am getting) to experience the kind of love little girls dream about, hoping one day to meet their “Prince Charming” (that’s what my mom calls you) like a real life Cinderella. But you don’t need a crown or a fancy suit or a magical talking horse to feel it. This kind of love like a nice warm fluffy blanket on cold winter mornings, or your favorite drink (coca cola) in a frosted glass on a hot and sunny summer day.

Our memories replay in my mind, like a life action movie…in which we play both of the main characters. The nights I can’t sleep I fantasize about our next adventures together, no matter how crazy or reckless our days end. So because of that; in this next chapter I will share “Our Story”

Our Story Part 1.

Like most days, I woke up dreading going to work, just to find out I was working somewhere different today. I reluctantly got ready, and went out the door. Once we got there, I met a young woman named “Tiffany”. We talked, just to kill some time, and eventually “You” walked in. I don’t recall if you had said anything to me that morning, but I do remember my mom introducing you to me. I somehow had mistaken you for your cousin. (sorry ❤️) , I went about my day for a while, doing my job (sadly) to when I looked over near the oven. I then see you frantically trying to catch a pan of hot bacon, but before you could grab it; it falls to the floor. I looked over and smiled, trying to reassure you (and trying not to laugh) and watch as you swept up the floor-flavored bacon.

I could already tell I was in for a treat, just based on our first impressions. I looked around to which there was barely any people working, wondering which position I was going to do, considering I was still new myself. For some reason: (😑) got decided to teach me how to make sandwiches IN THE MIDDLE OF LUNCH. But even during the most stressful parts, you never left my side. (Literally…). By the end of the day you were ready to leave, so we said our goodbyes and went on about our nights. That night I had decided I was going to bring cookies for everyone, since baking is a huge hobby of mine, and I knew it would be a great way to show appreciation for you.

So after I had made the cookies, I carefully packaged them up, excited to bring them the next day. The next morning I brought them , I first offered them to Tiffany, to that she politely declined due to health issues. I kept them in the office to come up with the perfect plan. I grabbed a small container and packed most of the cookies in it, and put it in a bag. And to the bag, I attached a note thanking you for your patience and kindness, while also apologizing for using Google Translate. We went about our day, including you writing my name in mustard. (I told my dad about that, sitting in a Target parking lot specifically) By the end of the day I had given out the rest of the cookies, but I couldn’t wait for you to try them, ever since you had grabbed the bag and turned, and right before you left flashed a quick smile.

😊

The next couple times I had seen you, we barely talked, just exchanging “hellos”, quick favors, and playful smiles. When we had worked at night, you mostly talked to your cousin, probably too nervous to start a conversation. I also recall one night, you had brought me a figure from One piece, which I thought was funny because I had also brought you something. the knife after I had overheard you many times asking your cousin for his knife.

Then finally one night, you gathered the courage to sneakily ask for my phone number, which when a little like; (we’re talking about cars) “if you ever need help with your car, just call me” I then responded “well how am I going to call you??” You then offered your phone number but right before I could type it in, my phone died. We went about our night and before we were about to leave, I walked back up to the front to start the conversation, hoping you didn’t forget. You then typed your phone number into my phone, and soon enough it was time to go home. I remember telling my dad and mom all about it on the way home. Adrenaline and excitement running through my veins.

I remember when I got home, I immediately texted you “hi”. You responded, and then shortly after I fell asleep. A few days passed and I see a notification pop-up. We chat back and forth and then to ask a question about the cookies, I originally didn’t understand so I ran up the stairs to ask my mom. After talking for a while, I offer to make you more cookies again. We also made a bet on a soccer game. (I won by the way) On the day you told me I could bring the cookies, I found out you’re sick. So I asked your aunt to take them home to you. The next couple of days we talked about our favorite shows, music, and food. We also talked about our pets, and how I was saving up to buy a truck.

The most memorable day I had, was when I worked the night before, and then the morning after. It was raining that day, so you didn’t have work. You stopped by the bring candy and talk. Later that say, I remember sitting on my couch talking to ciara and eating spaghetti, I see a notification on my phone. To no surprise, it’s you! That was the first time you had ever called me “pretty”. I was so excited I sent the screenshot to my mom. That day was August 9th 2024. The next day you apologized for the message, thinking I mistook it as “weird”.

A couple of days later, I asked if you would teach me how to drive. You said yes, and just a few days later I was nervously picking out the perfect outfit, doused in peach perfume. Waiting for you to arrive, I sat outside with my mom . Once you got there, we talked and then walked over to your car. Like a true gentleman, you opened the car door. We drove up to a gas station, and after that we found a small patch in the dirt, perfect for off road-driving practice. After talking, and driving in circles for 2 hours, it started getting dark. So you drove me back home, we said goodbye and you left. I excitedly ran inside to tell my mom and sister about everything we did.

The next time we went out, we found a couple of new places. Including when we took the highway, lost track of time, (and direction) and ended up in South Carolina, at 1 am. That day was August 16th, 2024. The next day you were convinced my mom was mad at you, but she thought it was funny. Everyday since then, I had watched for your car in the parking lot on my way to work, and from work. Knowing that your cousin would usually take your car in the morning, not seeing it must mean that you were home. :)

We would often visit big parking lots, for me to “drive” in. Even thought we would just talk for hours. Like the time the homeless guy got mad at us for not giving him money. One night at work, Aurt asked if I was your girlfriend, to which you said I don’t know. Then, later that night you asked me to be your girlfriend. For some reason, I responded “I don’t know”. I unfortunately don’t remember the date.

September 13th 2024, you asked if I was free that night. I said yes, so we agreed on 7:30. We hung out at our same parking lot, right in front of the dollar tree. After it started getting dark we decided it’d be better to head home. On our way there, you pulled over on the side of the road. We watched an animal cross. After that your mood changed, you told me you had something serious to ask. “Would you like to be my gf?” I nervously replied “I don’t know”. Not because I didn’t like you, but because I was unsure of this new feeling. I was also scared if something had happened between us, I would lose a friend. :(

😚

A month later, on October 14th 2024 we went to see our first movie together. The movie “Teriffier”, was weird but not scary. On October 27th 2024, you told me you had to take a break from working. I remember bringing you the hoodie I eagerly waited for to arrive in the mail. You had also given me a hoodie. That night I went home, my mind was racing, thinking I had messed up and lost my chance. I had put all of the things you gave me in a box, wishing I could go back in time and change my answer.

The next day, at 5:41 pm, I texted you. Asking if you were free any time this week, hoping for a response, and a second chance. I sent the text while wearing the very same hoodie you gave me the night before. My chest tightened as I waited for you to answer. Finally 2 hours later you sent me a text, asking about my day. I felt the weight lift off my heart and carried on with the conversation. We agreed to see each other on Thursday, October 31st 2024. (Halloween)

As I was touching of the makeup for my costume, perfecting the amount of glitter, and just the right of amount of a scarlet toned lipstick. I heard the doorbell, I quickly ran to the door to see you. Standing in your mask scaring the neighborhood kids. I walked outside to show to my outfit, and we handed out candy to the kids. After talking for a while you asked if I was sure I wanted to keep talking, and to that I said “why do you think I asked you to be here?”. We finished the night sitting outside, under the twinkling stars, in the crisp autumn air, enjoying the leftover candy and each other’s company. Soon enough, you had gone back to your house. And I felt a million times lighter.

Days later we went out again. We took a new road, unfamiliar and dark. We were indulging in our conversation when a shadow ran across the road. That shadow ended up being a deer, that then ended up as part of the car. You turned the car back around to go check on the deer. When you got out he was lying on the road, when you tried to help him up he leapt out of your arms, leaving a big wound on your arm. We went to the Walmart close by, almost getting hit by a car, we make it inside and find our way to the first aid section. After buying our items you let me clean it with alcohol, and bandage it up. We ended the night by playing Roblox, and when you dropped me off at my house gave me a gift, a big stuffed eevee. You also had given my sister a little a flower.

On November 8th 2024, we went to South Carolina again. While we were there we learned a lot about each other. We also got to see a giant peach water tower.

November 10th 2024, It’s your birthday!!! I texted you at exactly 12:00 am because I HAD to be the first person to say it to you. I asked if you had done anything to celebrate and promised to bring you a gift. I spent 5 hours picking out your gift, hoping it would be just perfect. Carefully wrapping each item, before placing it in the bag and spraying with perfume as a reminder of me.

November 14th 2024, This was the big day. We talked about going out so we made plans for 8:30. You told me you would be late and asked if 9:00 was alright. At 9:30 you arrived at my house, just like every night. We went to our same parking lot to hang out, listen to music, and have deep conversations. You told me to close my eyes and put my hands out. You hand me the deluxe version of talon swifts “Lover”. Soon then after, we were talking about relationships. You asked why I told you I don’t know. I told you how I really felt, after that I told you to as me again. Finally, I said yes and we hugged.

As we went home that night, I remember playing music in the car. We were listening to the song “Enchanted” by Taylor swift, as you “stretched” your arms. You put them around me for the first time. As we got to my house we said goodnight. I went inside feeling it total shock. My heart felt like it was on fire, not in that familiar burning pain, but out of love. I couldn’t wait to share the news WITH EVERYONE.

😚

I invited you over to my house to celebrate thanksgiving. You showed up, nervously. When you went inside you were introduced to my crazy family. They had obviously heard all about you. You tried new foods, and attempted to talk with my family. Im forever proud of you for that. Even thought you and Aurt spent the whole time making fun of me. Me and my mom talked about it after you guys had left, and said I was overreacting. But anyways…..❤️

A couple days later, you came over with a big ladder so we could put up Christmas lights. My mom made us dinner and after we sat in the couch. Playing Mario kart and enjoying hot chocolate. I was so excited because this was going to be our first Christmas together.

On December 7th, my sister had to go to the hospital so you were kind enough to take me to work. The next day she was still in the hospital, so to took me to work again. But before you had arrived, I baked a batch of cookies especially for you. You had given me the bag that night, and when I asked why, you told me “do I need a reason?”.

On December 20th, you went to Tennessee with your family. You sent me videos from your trip, including one where you got to meet a bear IN PERSON. You arrived back home on December 23rd. You handed me a bag filled with souvenirs from Tennessee, including a t-shirt painted by a penguin. The next couple days I had spent buying and arranging gifts for everyone. I was so excited to get yours. But even more excited to give it to you.

On Christmas, I sent you a text saying merry Christmas at 12:15 am, once again I had to be the FIRST person to say it to you. (Maybe im a little too competitive) I asked how your day was and you responded with a picture of you in a tree. After that you explained your families traditions, and later I asked if you were free to enjoy dinner with my family. You said yes and went to go pick up Aurt and head to my house. When you got there, we enjoyed dinner, opened gifts, and played games until you had to go back to your house. :(

Of course a few days later I had to invite you over for New year’s Eve. I set up a table filled with snacks and activities for us. We made slime and enjoyed shrimp while we watched the news and counted down the time until midnight. We celebrated at midnight and then you had to clean slime off of my shirt. I didn’t know you were able to blush, but I found out that night because as soon as you wiped the paper towel off my chest (to remove the slime) a slightly pink tone appeared on both sides of your face. After we finished with the slime, we sat on the couch watching southpark, and talked with my dad.

A week later we celebrated Ciara’s birthday. I think she really enjoyed it. And then it was time for February 14th, our first Valentine’s Day!!! I woke up at 5:00 am so I could go get things for everyone’s gift. I picked out the pickle (Charles) because I thought he looked absolutely handsome, just like you. I also looked for the brightest, happiest, most vibrant roses I could find. Especially because I had read a statistic, stating that men received their first flowers at their own funeral. ;( I couldn’t wait to give you your gift after spending hours thinking of the perfect note to sign off the card.

Not much happened during the spring time, other than when I explained to you what an Easter basket was. We even made Easter baskets for each other. And that time you got that awful haircut. We saw our second movie in theaters that night.

A week later, you had gone to Mexico but right before something magical happened. After months of trying, unsuccessfully. We shared our first kiss the night before you had left. I knew I could never figure myself if something had happened to you, and I couldn’t find out what it was like. The way you held me so gently, while sharing a new milestone with you felt like a scene right from a movie. I could barely sleep that night just constantly relaying it in my head.

2 months later came my birthday. You organized an amazing celebration, that im still thankful for now. We spent the day shopping for the most perfect outfit, dressing up and enjoying a meal at a restaurant way out of our league. The waitress was so nice to us. The way I felt so special that day is a feeling I’ve only ever know with you. Never before, and ever since. The way our eyes glistened through the dim candlelight felt magical all on its own. Never mind the delicious bread. I couldn’t wait to go home and share our stories with my mom. To my surprise, you walked me through the door covering my eyes. To reveal a beautiful cake, but most importantly the feeling of love that radiated through the whole atmosphere. That night you made me feel so special, just like a real life princess.

During that summer we mostly spent the weekends at the beach. One of the times Courtney got attacked by a sting ray. I also remember one time you told me to come look at a jellyfish in the ocean, but then remembered they’re dangerous, so you told me to not to come over. On july 4th, we grilled hot dogs and spent the evening in the pool, watching fireworks and enjoying the fresh summer air. We had also gone to the beach with your cousins. That whole trip was great, but especially when we forced each other into the ocean.

Unfortunately not that long after my aunt had passed away. I didn’t have to say much before you showed up to my house and asked what you could do to help. We talked about going to New York, and you quickly said you would do whatever it took to be there. When we had gotten there we learned pretty fast what it was like to be parents, having a baby climbing all over you regardless of how busy you are.

We left on Saturday August 23rd, and on the way home I became sick. You comforted me the whole ride home, until it was time for you to head back to your house. The next day you came over and we went out to get sonic drinks. The next few days I started feeling worse so you offered to take me to the doctor. That same day you injured your finger at work, nearly cutting it off. A little while after that Daisy started acting odd so you, without questioning drove to 3 different Tractor Supply stores hoping to find emergency food for her.

😚

We took her to the vet a couple of days later, just to find out she was ok. The vet told us she had a minor case of malocclusion and her back teeth were slightly overgrown. They prescribed pain medication for her while we scheduled an appointment to shave her back teeth down. The vet had also said she was in great health otherwise. Later that week, Friday specifically, was the day of her surgery. We took her back to the vet and they had taken her back. A few hours later they called and said she was ready to be picked up. When we picked her up she seemed a little tired so she mostly fell asleep at the way back. We stopped at PetSmart to get her some treats, even letting her pick out a toy.

Then came October, when we went all over the city looking for pieces for our costumes. Including the time we went to spirit Halloween and saw your cousin and his friends there. By the time of Halloween we had all of our costumes together. We looked great and got to hand out candy to all of the kids in their adorable costumes.

November 10th, Today’s your birthday! It even snowed. I went hurried to the bakery so I was able to pick up your cake in time. When I got back home I set up the decorations for your little party. I was so excited to see your reaction.

November 27th On thanksgiving day, we went to 4 (5?) different food lions trying to find a specific shape of pasta. We never did end up finding it so I settled for something else. We went to my house and while I finished cooking (with my mom) you and Aurt had played uno. Of course Aurt lost. When the food was ready we sat day and enjoyed our feast together. Something we should all be grateful for, food and family.

In December we grabbed 2 tags off of the angel tree. We went to so many different stores hoping to get everything on the list. Right before giving up we thankfully found a baby shark toy. We also went to so many different stores looking for Christmas gifts for everyone. Including when we saw the guy in the big blue truck hit that bright red Camaro, and try to flee the scene.

December25th On Christmas, first my family came over which was strangely uncomfortable. Later that day you came over which made things much better. I always find comfort where you are. The rest of my family left. We all opened presents (thank you by the way ❤️) and showed them off to each other. After that people went about doing their own thing, so we were laying on the couch together. Of course we had to go get our drinks from the gas station. When we were there your brother called and I said hi to him. We went back to my house and enjoyed dinner together while watching the terrible remake of Icarly.

🐳

The next day I ended up being sick AGAIN. So obviously you came over to comfort me and we went to go get our sonic drinks. The next couple days it got worse and I even lost my voice. You constantly told me I should go to the doctor but I refused anyway. Then that brings us to New Year’s Eve. No one else I’d want to leave that year, and enter the new one with. Of course we almost missed midnight, but it wouldn’t be us if we weren’t late.

Two weeks later I started feeling better from my cold.

In the middle of January, we were taking Courtney to get some makeup for a concert she was going to when she got a call. That call was when she found out her mom had passed away. You rushed the car full of people to the hospital, but the car ride home was somber and silent. Moments like this are like a lesson, life teaches us to be more grateful for things before we lose them.

That next week you left to go to Mexico. Of course I had missed you but it was teaching me to be independent while you’re gone. We talked everyday through text even though it wasn’t the same. When you came back that Sunday, February 8th, it was like you had never left. We went to dollar tree and got makeup for YOU, and even listen to Bad Bunny all the way home. (I still remember you said you don’t like him at the beach - _ -) .

February 14th The night before Valentine’s Day I had gone out to the store to buy everyone a little gift for Valentine’s Day, I just knew you would love the giant horse. I spent the whole week prior trying to think of the perfect sequence of words to right your letter. This book was also going to be a gift for Valentine’s Day but unfortunately it took me too long to finish this. . On Valentine’s Day, I woke up, took a shower, and did my makeup and made up the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit. We went to get our coffee, dropped off the gifts, and went to the mall. We nearly got lost on the way there. When we had gotten there we got our pretzels, spent way too much money at hot topic. Got you a nice new pair of shoes. ( you definitely needed those) Then we made our way to Victoria’s Secret. You tried to get me to pick out a perfume but I already have too many. After that we went to get cotton candy and then dinner. We enjoyed our food and even got ice cream and a fun little board game to play together.

February 17th, we go my mom gifts for her birthday. We set up a little party for her while my dad took her to dinner. When she came back we celebrated. I know she definitely enjoyed her birthday.

And that brings us to now. I’m not sure what the future will hold for us, hopefully it’s full of love. There’s no one else I could picture the rest of my life with. I’m so thankful you chose me in this lifetime, and hope you’d always pick me in every other lifetime. I love you so so much, more than words or actions could ever describe.
